Be invisible on one server but online on another.

God, please. I get stressed out hiding under invisible all the time in all my channels when I'm really just trying to chill out with one group for a while without being hounded on the rest!

Just adding to the chorus.  I've really enjoyed all of the Discord innovations but am a little puzzled why such savvy programmers like they are have not realized how value added it would be to have an invisible option specific to certain servers.  This thought process of privacy is akin to the displaying of what game you are playing.  Admins of single game guilds/clans have demoted or kicked me because  I was playing a competing game.  Crazy I know.

I came here after Googling if this is possible yet...... which I can see it's not :(
    Please make it so!
    Thanks! :)

I would love this feature, I usually keep my game activity off because I'm on so many diff servers for gaming, social, and even professional.  Sometimes if I'm playing with one server community I'd like them to be able to see I'm playing the same game, but not advertise it across all the other gaming communities discord servers and get bugged to 'come play this game instead!' constantly.  I tried in the past to keep multiple discord accounts but that just got too confusing and troublesome to keep track of since the client doesn't lend well to using multiple accounts.  I tried for a while to keep one account in the web only and one in the desktop app but it wasn't worth the hassle.

This is a feature I'd use consistently. I would love for servers to have more of a personal presence, such as different icons and online statuses and support both of these things wholeheartedly.

This is a feature I've been wanting for a long time!

I have some servers I use for work and I'd like to appear Online to those servers during work hours, and on Do Not Disturb or Invisible to all other servers while I'm at work, so I don't get disrupted.

This would be really great.  I don't necessarily want every server I'm in to have the ability to see whether or not I'm online- especially since I've seen a lot of servers where the ability to see online statuses was exploited for nastiness and guilt-tripping.  (Doesn't happen everywhere, but it happens enough that I'm actively concerned about it when I join new servers)   Plus, it's just nice for the added control and privacy it gives you.

I thought the block feature would function this way since it did in ye olden days of MSN.. essentially you went offline to that person and they never knew they were blocked. And you could unblock them without having to re add them as friends.

Seriously it's annoying to have to be on Invisible when I'm just trying to avoid one or two draining people that spam me as soon as I log on, but don't want to actually block forever.

Apparently, Discord doesn't care about the number of votes.

I think it would be best (in order to get traction with the devs) to have one 'post' for this so that it has the most up arrows & follows...  I would ask if you see a new post similar to this one, then put a permalink to this comment (item):

    https://support.discordapp.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360029554971/comments/360009907391

... so the ppl in the other posts can up arrow over here.

    ○ Server Specific Visibility
    • if you use discord for work, volunteering, & social aspects; this is as important as the two items below

    With regards to related items:

    ○ Server Specific Bios
    • I'd love to take this a step further for the RPG'ers out there & have even per 'channel' specific bios, in the same server, this would let you in an easy to find fashion link to details about a character within a channel
    • Again this has use cases in the business, volunteering worlds as well; where you have different contact info based on the server and/or a different role based on the team (per channel is important)

With regards to "Server Specific Avatars"
    • this has it's own (separate) post you (again, thank's @Nelly) : https://support.discordapp.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360029341852/comments/360009909552
    ○ this also has a use-case for ppl who use discord for various endeavors: work, volunteering, & play
    ○ I'd love to take this a step further for the RPG'ers out there & have even per 'channel' specific avatars, in the same server ... the same logic holds, if I'm a DM with multiple campaigns why have multiple servers & not multiple channels (that way all the common stuff can be in one channel & all the campaign specific stuff can be in it's channel.

I'd like to ask for everyone's help in up arrow'ing:

    ○ this post (let's help @Nelly cross the finish line <after a year 😲>, though the dev team has been understandably busy with scaling, performance, & Rust conversion)!
    ○ this comment so that we can get everyone on the same page (& hopefully get the dev's to work on this item.)

YES! I use Discord for only one game. I have servers with my alliance and I'm "friends" with enemies who I need to make game-related political negotiations with because the in-game chat feature is terrible, but this means they can see if I am online or offline. That makes it so they can wait for me to be offline to attack me. So my choices are to try to randomize my online/offline mode, or just always stay offline. Then the chatrooms always appear dead cause everybody is offline for the same reason.

    Help us Discord people!

My work place has begun using Discord because we love being able to text, voice chat, integrate with our apps, and screen share as needed and Discord does all of it -- on top of being highly reliable. But I don't want my coworkers knowing when I'm gaming or what I'm playing! I only want my actual gaming friends to see this information.

Yes, yes, a thousand times yes! As I'm staff on several servers, I keep my status to invisible, as a precaution against spammers and to avoid answering questions I don't want to. However, on private servers, I like to stay online so I can chat and whatnot :)

It would be really nice to have this.
I use some channels for professional purposes and others just for gaming. It would be nice not to have to mix up my private life with my business life.
Some people are just silent readers and don't want to be disturbed on these channels.

Official people comment on another post (this one https://support.discordapp.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360034565191-Server-specific-online-status) saying to comment here but why are there no official answers here?  When is this going to be made a thing?

I would prefer to recommend Discord over Slack to my startups for a number of reasons, but this *specific issue* stops me from doing it. Need to have privacy settings for each organization, period, or Discord can't be a work tool. Shame, since it would be a great one.

Seriously - implement this. Or explicitly say you don't intend to.

Came here from a quick google search. I was sure this can be done, i just cannot find how. Especially these days, a lot of folks want to have some private and some work/professional discord servers. And many people like to keep those two worlds somewhat separate.

what annoys me is that you can't even invoke a second instance of the Discord app and sign into a different account. The only option is to use both the Discord app and the web page. You're totally screwed if you want to use a third account.without signing out of the other two (Family/Friends, Work/School, and Gaming accounts)
