Can this be updated for the most recent version of Discord?

This does still work, even though the images are outdated.

My Admin voice channel is publically visible even with all permissions denied for "@everyone".

but is text channel hidden? I don't want to have a channel that people can't access, but they know "Somethings there, and it's secret".

Hmm... I cannot complete step seven. It will not let me change the 'read messages' box on @everyone. What am I missing?

@Kaecia you can't disable read messages in the #general channel, the Leader channel has to be a new one that you've created.

I think this needs to be updated. Because this guide is not actually matching the product. Do not have the options it is saying to click on.

Its permissions must not for only creator its must be for with admins

So disabling the "Read Messages" permission for @everyone acts as a catch-all of sorts? I don't understand why you wouldn't also have to disable, the other permissions. Is that just a usability thing? The YouTube video also mentions that "Instant Invite" should be disabled as well, whereas this article does not

Where do we find server settings?

  • Avatar
    Cilantrelle

@Cool Dolphin just click the 3 bars next to the server name, and you'll see it in the pull down menu, but only if you have the permissions to do so! (Or if you're the server owner).

    This Tool Fantastic!
But could you please confirm, If I want to contact all Leaders with Notification, using the @everyone in the message will not work, do i need to do it as such..
[email protected], @paul, this message is for you'
Just wondering as one of our leaders used the @everyone in the Leaders room and no notification came through. I was thinking does the @everyone apply to all within that room or the Server

I can now no longer see the "Permissions" section in the channel options.
So I made a false one ta check for this issue, and it also locked me out.
Now I can't delete the false channel.
Why can't I delete my own false channel?

I really love Discord, but there is one big problem: I want to let the admins change permissions, but for that, I have to click the button twice, because the first click makes it red. But after it is red, I can logically not change it anymore, because I am an admin... Could you probably change this in any way... ?

What can we do about that one channel that cant be deleted, and can't remove read access on?

  • Avatar
    Cilantrelle

@Broote You can remove "read message history" and "send messages" and turn it into a welcome portal of sorts.

How would I create a channel that would be exculsive to only a role called "Admins" and people with no role (people who just joined)? I would like to include this function in my #verification channel.

  • Avatar
    Byeuji

@FlamingToast We created a role called "verified", which gives users access to all the basic channels. Without a "verified" role, a user can only see the authentication/verification channel.

Then we disabled anyone besides admins and no-roles from seeing the authentication channel. So when you get "verified", the authentication channel disappears.

how do i promote users to become Admins please respond

  • Avatar
    ellolizard

@BastardGamer98 You can assign the users the Admin role in your server by first creating the Admin role with the permissions that you would like to enable for admins, then open the "Members" tab and then find the user's Discord tag that you would like to promote by clicking  "+" sign and then selecting the Admin role from the drop down menu.
