    @AeSix: This is support, not feedback.

    @DarkPikachu I can understand the paradigm switch from mark-up to mark-down, but, for now, MD is lighter to format text and such. Your feelings are up to you, but I really think feedback is a better place for this, since this is trying to help people understand MD, not for complaining about it existing.

    It would be nice to be able to bring some colors to the chat like <color=#FFFFFF></color> or any other way to bring colors to a certain portion of text (not necessarily HTML tags). Moreover, It would be nice to be able to give permissions to write text formatting.

    PS: Sorry if my english skills are bad. I'm a french canadian and I did my best.

    I suggest someone ban AeSix and smash his wicked retarded defective projective head in.  MarkDown is not at fault; AeSix is.  Learn the rules, shut up, leave, or die.  Can a gamer learn anything?  The servers are filled with retards who write as such and they often refuse to learn, then if they're arseholes meet corrections with insults.  Wipe them off the earth.

    coward -> cowered

    mrquebec13, no it would not be "nescius/niais" to format text; you'd be.  As of now here is how you can get colors:

    ```markdown
    [violet][brown][violet](teal)
    #red
    ```

    ```css
    green
    ```

    ```xl
    blue
    ```

    ```dns
    ; grey
    ```

    Cilantrelle, this isn't Twitter or Discord; quit it with the @s.

    lodbrok (Edited )

    ```markdown
     <blue brown=teal>
    ```

    Also works

    Another thing; why haven't AeSix been banned/muted and his posts deleted?
    They contribute nothing to the topic, he's offensive and does nothing but flame like a teenager.

    Edit: @ handles are a good way to ease the reading for the relevant conversation participants.
    I am at a loss as to how this is an inconvenience for you.

    But the ML attributes break color at spacing and punctuation irregularly:

    ```markdown
    <blue=blue brown brown=teal=teal="teal brown brown" brown>
    ```

    I don't believe in censorship however; as long as they aren't spam everyone should see how offensive he is.

    Each @ makes me stare at it rather than look for real names.

    It should be possible to set text color as well.

    Let me add my voice to chorus:

    The more Markdown syntax supported, the merrier we will be!

    Blockquotes are a biggie that would be super-useful.  And, whatever Markdown features *are* supported (or get added in the future) need to be fully documented somewhere by the Discord team.

    The original (and perhaps "authoritative", if any are) Markdown implementation is, naturally, John Gruber's site.

    However, in the places where that spec is ambiguous, lacks obvious features, or just creates issues, (and, as awesome as it is, it *does* do all three of those things at times), I very strongly suggest that you refer to, take inspiration from, and/or even specifically implement:

    John MacFarlane's amazingly well-executed Pandoc Markdown.

    P.S.:  Even if you already regard this suggestion as a complete non-starter for Discord, do yourself a favor:  go take a long, thoughtful look at Pandoc (if you've never before)... you will eventually use it for something, and you will be so thankful that it exists, and that it's so well and fully-formed... it's definitely one of IMO the best and most useful pieces of software I have ever had the pleasure of executing ;)

    I've seen some people able to send a blank message. As in it literally has no words in it what so ever. You go to highlight it, sometimes you can, sometimes you can't. No words are there. Nada. How do you do that?

    Also,

    there also other codes for the ``` thing.

    If you do

    ```css
    test
    ```

    it will become green just like this.

    Also, if you do

    ```lua
    Then something lua like
    print("Discord Markdown Text!")
    Then
    ```

    it will be like this.

    If its a diffrent lua script then it will be diffrent colors

    Hope i helped someone! :D

    Will they add the keyboard shortcuts as in:

    • "CTRL"+"I" = Toggle Italics
    • "CTRL"+"B" = Toggle Bold
    • "CTRL"+"U" = Toggle Underline

    Even though I can see the underline format in the text editor here, it seems that it won't save.

    Cilantrelle

    @Peekofwar I don't think so- I think so of those hotkeys are used for other functions in Discord. Not 100% sure though.

    Any idea when this article can be updated to include all the languages available for code markdown?

    It's difficult to tell which languages are properly supported at the moment.

    On page 2, someone asked about a /roll type system to roll dice. I think this would be a brilliant addition as well for some of the DnD games I will be running using Discord. Any support for that idea?

    Good morning. I was wondering if there was a recommended 'language' over markdown (which is what I've primarily been using) that uses Discord's syntax highlighting support to display information, for say, a bot. It seems the latest update dropped the number of supported colors in Markdown from 6 (red, cyan, purple, orange, grey, blue) to 5 (purple was taken out, kind of forced a little reorganization of data for my purposes, but not a BIG deal). Wondering if, with the new update, something better was put into place, with the possibility of working with colors a little easier. Not the highest priority question, but thanks for any and all input.

    Edit: grammar

    @pananahaakna No idea, but am interested to know what users are utilizing. This article is due for some changes following the markdown syntax change ,so maybe I'll find something good!

    @GMBigKev I don't know that we have any plans for a command like that in Discord right now, but you can upvote it over at feedback.discordapp.com!
