I think this is a bug. If my mic is on mute then the red banner shows.

mine gives the red bar in the top, it does go away when ever i talk, so my mic is connected and my friends can hear me even if the red bar is there :D

Well, for mine, it just had my input volume set to nil, so I had to turn that up. easy.

Same problem as many, I get the big red pop-up anytime I stop talking for more than 4 seconds.

Good feedback however........ This problems happens to me EVERY TIME I open Discord... Wouldn't it be easier to find a solution instead of guiding people around the problem ^^ Just saying, might be more difficult than it seems

I just want an option to make the banner stop appearing, my mic works perfectly fine but the second I stop talking on voice detection the stupid think appears again and it annoys the hell out of me

Mine keeps telling me it can't hear me, but when I talk, it transmits just fine.

    Annoying as fuck.

Using Astro A40's and the build in driver that comes with the Mixamp Pro.

When I start up Lord of the Rings Online, my microphone input ceases. Like, it still shows up in Windows Sound/Recording Devices, but Discord says "Oh no something's wrong!" or something like that, and it won't work in Lord of the Rings Online either. In no programs. Maybe it's a new bug with LOTRO, sending a bug report now.

It's not a "minor bug" for us who actually don't have microphone input...

My mic is working everyone can hear me, but unless I am talking I have the annoying "Let's fix that" message the whole time at the top.

Oh my god. Is there a way to mute this stupid warning?
I'm not constantly talking. If I stop for thirty seconds I don't need a warning message.

my mic works perfectly fine, how do i stop discord from telling me it is having an issue?

Hey everyone, we've heard your guys' issues that the red bar is being overly frustrating and won't seem to go away, even if your mic is working. We'll have a disable option for the error message coming later this week, and this article will be updated with the steps on how to do that. Thank you so much for your patience.

Had the same cause as Draumal, input volume was set to 0 and i just had to turn it up. But if that is the case Discord should be able to tell me exactly what's going on. It should should tell me specifically "yes, we can hear you but your input volume is turned down". It could even have a button that takes me directly to the input setting or have a button that puts it at 100

Red warning bar is definitely annoying! Just a little tip for some of those that may have a similar issue and hopefully devs can bugfix. If you are not being heard and the mic is not being picked up like I get sometimes... I've noticed my input volume will be stuck at zero and will instantly scale back down if I try to adjust it. If I shut down and restart discord I can freely adjust the voice input and be heard again. What I've noticed is if I swap my primary audio devices or plug my headset in with Discord already open, this bug occurs and Discord needs to be exited and relaunched. Hope this helps a few people. I've made it a habit to not launch Discord until my headset is plugged in, because otherwise I use speakers. Hopefully this can be fixed!

Update: For anyone who was having a miserable time with the red bar popping up even if it wasn't applicable, the latest update released just now has a perma-disable! I've updated the steps in the article to walk you through it. :D

I can hear others, and discord picks up my mic (icon lights up when I talk), but no one can hear me. I tried changing the mic settings to no avail. Looking forward to when it works though. I'd like to be done with skype
