There's one problem. Newest OBS does not have BrowserSource and the old plugin I've downloaded does not work, so where I can find a new one ?

@shacram You'll find the "BrowserSource" link in OBS, not Discord. Not quite sure what else you're referring to. If you're still having troubles, you can reply here, and shoot us an email at support@discordapp.com.

Is there anyway that I can change the height of the chat widget in case lots of people begin talking?

Right now it's kinda useless. Because you cant resize the widged. You have to stick with the preset width and height.

So if you want to place a textchannel as a sidepanel on your stream overlay, by reducing the width then you'e screwed because the chat will be cut off instead of breaking the lines how it should be.

Is there a solution for that? Some changes that could be added to the code to make it work breaking lines instead of cutting them off? If not then fix that so the textchannels can be displayed as sidepanel with higher heights and lower width.

@ilantrelle I have OBS Studio 0.15.2, and it does not have browser source:

And no, I'm not willing to use 32-bit :)

This feature would be really awesome, but alas I'm having some frustrating setbacks. What I'm after is the Voice Chat feature; it'd be sweet to have that in my stream. After I've connected my server to the overlay customizer, changed the settings to my liking, and copied the browser link, the icons simply will not show up. I've tried pasting the link into OBS (as a Browser Source) and also my browser itself, and it won't transfer between the customizer preview window to the actual link.

I'm really confused because I know Discord, as well as the customizer window, are picking up activity and displaying it, but the link it generates does not show anything. Any advice to solve this?

    I appreciate it in advance.

@Iyeru you have to download the OBS-Studio-0.15.2-With-Browser-Installer

    bottom of the page

Hey, I'm trying to add the OBS streamkit to my server, but the installer won't connect at all, I keep getting this: http://prntscr.com/bzfbd9 Even though discord is up and running on the latest version on my second screen. Also, My twitch is connected, but the twitch integration tab isn't popping up. Sorry if this is in the wrong place, kinda new to where i'm supposed to ask for help on here

@EnderCorps_Alpha First, you need to select the server to which to connect below

I am having the same problem as @EnderCorps_Alpha is having. Discord is installed, but the website can't find it, and i am unable to even choose server.

Clearly it is meant to popup in the discord app, and then grant it permission. But this doesn't happen at all.

@Snuffsis @EnderCorps_Alpha do you guys have the latest version of OBS installed? Having an earlier version than current may cause it not to connect to Discord. If you do and are still having the issue, try reinstalling Discord real fast and give it another shot.

    @Cilantrelle

I have the latest OBS installed, tried both classic and studio. And i tried reinstalling Discord. Still the same error.

I also tried changing browser incase some addon was the cause, it was not.

Is there a way to change the fact that the voice widget reorders members of the channel when someone new joins? When I first link the widget, it shows us in the same order as we are in Discord, but when someone new joins or if someone DCs and reconnects, it places them at the bottom of the overlay.

@ViridianCrow Hmm nothing like that at the moment. Users are sorted alphabetically in voice channels, which should be how they're reflected in the widget.

Is there anyway to stop from being automatically pulled into the set voice channel in discord every single time I load OBS?, That is HIGHLY annoying and it needs to not do that...

  • Avatar
    Cilantrelle

@dontblink039 If you use the voice widget, it will automatically join that voice channel no matter what. Just delete the voice widget from your stream overlay when you don't want to use it.

That's a workaround, not a solution.  Right now I can't really use this, because I'm not going to add or remove BrowserSource sources every time I want to or don't want to have the voice widget displayed on my stream. :(  Hopefully this will get squished quickly, and doesn't get 80/20'd away.

Idea to fix it, just have the widget display a message if you're not in the channel saying something along the lines of "You must join the channel first."

there is no browse source option

Whenever I do the overlay, I never get a link, it says "Once you've finished configuring your widget, enter the following URL, width, and height into a browser source:" so is there something special I need to do to get the link? I am confused. Also how do we ensure we use only 1 or 2 of the overlays and not all of them?

  • Avatar
    Cilantrelle

@OyuncuDedeler you'll need to download a plugin to enable the browser source option in OBS. A simple google search will help there.

@Droid Lord Grif When you select a widget, the link generated will be to that specific widget. 3 widgets used = 3 links (or 1:1, if you're not using the other two.) The link should be generated as soon as you hit "install for OBS".

I'm having the same problem as @Snuffsis @EnderCorps_Alpha error:

CAN'T CONNECT TO THE DISCORD CLIENT

It looks like we’re having trouble connecting to your Discord client. Make sure you have Discord installed and running on your computer. If you don’t have the app installed you can download it atdiscordapp.com/download

I have tried with chrome 53 (32 and x64), IE 11 and Edge and discord 0.0.296 on 2 different PCs.

OBS is Version 15.4 with the browser plugin.

There is nothing under authorized apps except game wisp

I have uninstalled and reinstalled Discord and it did not fix the problem.

This happens when you click install for OBS it spins for a few seconds and then throws the error. Any other suggestions,

Did a bit more digging and this is the error that is being thrown in the developer tools of the browser:

WebSocket connection to 'wss://removed.discordapp.io:6465/?v=1&client_id=remove' failed: Error in connection establishment: net::ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED

@bart1ebee Try using Google's public DNS to solve that: https://developers.google.com/speed/public-dns/docs/using

    bart1ebee (Edited )

Same thing with google DNS. After updating the DNS I added discord.exe to the windows firewall outbound rule and it is working now

EDIT: Well it worked for a minute and is giving the same message aging.

EDIT2: Setting the DNS on the Router didn't work had to set it on the local NIC. it is up and running now Thanks

the voice widget automatically changing channel is annoying and bad design. i have to delete and create a source in OBS per channel.

please add an option to avoid automatic changing channels!

Heya, quick question: Is there any way to add a delay to this overlay when rendered in OBS?

I'm moving my audio forward by about one and a half seconds to mitigate a lag from another source and this overlay seems to render in pretty much real-time! I need to delay it as well to key to the other source.

  • Avatar
    Cilantrelle

@Zitteraal No way to do this from Discord's perspective, unfortunately. I'm not quite sure if you can manually add a delay to the browser source in OBS, though that seems like the best way to go about it if you can.
