Three years ago, we set out to bring people together around games. Now, we’re bringing the games to you with the Store. To us, this feels like that final boss health meter hitting zero; that 151st pokemon being caught; that ding at the end of that ruthless vanilla level 60 grind. WE ARE EXCITED!
I want games!
Good thing we made it super simple! You’ll find the Store tab wedged comfortably in the Home directory.
Here you’ll see a curated list of games for your buying pleasure! Our store has a hands-on personal approach to give you the best information about each game. Each game has a video preview on hover and a custom description so you know what the game is about so you can browse easily.
OOOOooooooo pretty, scroll down for more pretty
Important note: Playing & installing games is only supported on Windows!
Clicking on a game will bring you to that games’ store page with full details. You’ll see a note from us, a description of the game from the developers, and a list of features along with the latest news!
Be sure to check that your toaster can meet the system requirements. You’ll find System Requirements at the bottom of the page.
Once a game has piqued your interest, click Buy and you’re sent to a page where you can select your payment method.
Note: We currently accept only Credit Card & PayPal. Keep in mind, paying with PayPal balance currently does not work, there will have to be a Credit Card linked in order for PayPal to work. Learn more about billing here!
For Credit Card enter in Payment Information & Billing Address.
When selecting PayPal a web browser will automatically open to complete the purchase.
Time to install! Navigate to the Library tab (it’s squashed next to the Store tab.)
From here go ahead and click Install.
You’ll be prompted to select what drive you’d like to install on. The disk space required will also be displayed here.
When installing a game the progress will be displayed at the top of the Library. The Install button will also change to say Downloading.
Please note, if you’re seeing Verifying Install, hang in there. The game is still downloading but isn’t going to display a percentage or ETA.
This is what you’ll see when the download is complete! Note the Downloading button turns to Play! WEEE GO PLAY!
Imagine all of the wonderful games you’ve purchased over the years as luxury classic cars. You’re going to need a place to maintain, organize, and just overall admire your impressive collection. Think of the Library as your 80 car garage!
Here you’ll see a list of games you’re able to manage from the Library. Right-clicking on the game will give you the options to toggle the game status & the overlay. For games purchased on the Store or via Nitro, you’ll also have access to Uninstall, Repair, Create a Desktop Shortcut, Show in Finder, and View in Store.
Games queued for updates will appear at the top of the list, similar to when games initially install.
You’ll be able to organize the Library by Name, Platform, and Last Played by simply clicking on the name at the top.
Unfortunately, you won’t be able to manually add a game to this Library.
Long story short, the game must have been purchased in the last 14 days & have less than two hours of total play time. Check out our refund policy in full here! Contact dis.gd/billing to request a refund.
Loss of account
Unfortunately, if you lose access to your Discord account you will also lose the games in your library. To ensure your account has all the recommended safeguards, be sure to check out this guide.
The Store will offer games that are considered Early Access. What is early access? It’s sorta like eating raw cookie dough. It’s not yet at a “complete” state; however, it’s still awesome! This is our way of letting you know that the title you’re viewing is currently in this cookie dough state.
Expect a few glitches on your journey. Also feel prideful for helping a game developer get their baby across the finish line.
DLC, also known as Downloadable Content (should stand for “Discord Likes Cookies” but w/e internet), can also be sold on the Store. For example, think of that bonus level, or that neat expansion pack, or adding another pupper to your beautiful family of good woofers - it’s the addition of more content to the games you’re already enjoying.
You’ll see this message if the page you’re viewing is DLC. Inside the message itself will let you know the base game needed in order for that DLC to work.
Note: Keep in mind, we are unable to provide refunds or exchanges for purchases for downloadable content (DLC).
Country Banned Games
It’s possible that you’re unable to purchase a game from us due to the game itself being blocked by the country you live in. If you run into this error message, you won’t be able to purchase this game.
Look who’s an awesome friend, you’re good people! At the moment, you can not gift a game to another user. Be sure to upvote the request to gift games if it’s a feature you’d like to see.
Lastly, be sure to give this blog post a read! It outlines our vision for adding games to Discord.
