I'm in several different servers for the various games that I play.  I'd love to be able to have a thematic picture for each server.

Yes please. There are many different types of communities that one person might be in.

Please please please!!!  It'd really be nice to have a different avatar for work, and others for my personal gaming activities.

Yes, Please! I RP in different servers, and would set different avatars, also some servers I'd use my face, but refuse to in others, I do value my privacy.

I completely agree, this should be a top feature priority.

Yes, please! I use Discord for both professional and gaming purposes. My avatar makes perfect sense in a business context, but sticks out like a sore thumb in my gamer channel.

Discord is becoming more than just chat for gamers.  My public policy group is using it now to organize across the country.  It's so inappropriate to use the avatar I use on my 7DaysToDie server!  Please, really devs, what is it going to take to allow this feature??

Please discord. I change my profile pic a lot to be funny on some servers. But also I use discord for some more professional ish stuff and having an anime profile pic in a business meeting doesn't make sense.

Absolutely, strong support for this. I've wanted this sort of thing for over a year now.

When I change my PFP for a D&D game or some other form of roleplay, I don't want to be locked to it for all my servers. And it makes roleplaying in two different servers around the same time impossible, or really clunky.

It'd also be neat to be able to pic an image that fits the theme of the server. A Bleach character in the Bleach server, a Dragon Ball character in that server, you get the idea.

I mean, the only thing we can do is keep asking. I don't know their data on user-extrapolation of votes (i.e. 1 vote = 1,000 users, etc.) but I can tell this feature is a pretty popular idea. I would hate to think it's "beyond their capability" as people have suggested, but I say stick it in with Nitro and have it be a selling point as an excuse to generate revenue from adding it.

Just as a reminder, the original UserVoice suggestion (link now dead) created in 2016 had about 10000 votes and 1000 comments by the time the feedback systems changed in November 2018. It got lost in the transition along with some others. This one is not the same and only had about 500 votes after the transition.

Unfortunately, it seems the old suggestion is lost forever and does not appear to be saved in any web archive.

I really don't feel like this should be a hard feature to implement, and definitely not something that should be behind a $10/month paywall. It's frustrating that this has been open for 6 months and there isn't any official word from Discord to even say that it is something that they are considering or not.

This thread is so popular that there's been separate threads on this support forum just asking if anyone higher up has seen this thread. If you go into the forum page and look at new posts and start scrolling you'll eventually run into multiple closed threads that ask what the devs think about this thread.

So far from what the support team has been saying to the other threads, it doesn't seem like Discord has anything planned for this feature at the moment. Or if they are they aren't sharing their progress publicly.

I really hope that they do implement this feature, but make sure if you read this to share this page with your friends so that they can upvote this thread too and give their 2 cents. I've been subbed to this thread for over 3 months now, and for a forum that nobody really uses (lets face it you probably got here through a google search like I did) it seems we get a new comment here every day, which is impressive enough.

Some comments here also mention identity theft because with the use of this feature people can copy names and pictures, but that's why we have DMs we can open up, and username # tags, and mod roles on big servers can help with those types of trolls. Plus if someone is going to mimic someone else, they're going to do that regardless of if this is a feature or not, i've seen it happen on public servers, they just change their profile pic even without this feature. Actually if we implement this feature it'll make it easier to spot impersonators, because the impersonator could change their server-side profile picture but still show their default picture and username when you click on them.

DO THIS! This can also be used to prevent people from abusing the profile pic system to use inappropriate profile pictures. As a server owner i would like to be able to Change the profile pic of a user (in my guild) if I deem it as inappropriate, the same way as the "Change Nickname" system is used. This should also be opened up to developers so we can either change the avatar of a user in the guild or remove/hide it completely.

The changes would only apply to the guild that changes it. So if i change someones avatar on my guild, if they are on another guild, their avatar wont change.

Although this issue has the most comments, it is far from having the most votes. I guess that is why it is lower priority. I don't know how so many other issues got so many more votes than this one, without much commenting under them. Makes me wonder...

100% needed!!!! I am running a couple servers for multiple RGP games. We would love our avatars to match the character in each game setting rather than our main profile pic. Please Please Please make this available!
