There are 3rd party software that can allow themes, but I support this idea nonetheless. It can make it easier to express yourself without having to download software.

@HexDev The problem is that BetterDiscord isn't supported & is technically against the TOS to use BetterDiscord. That also requires a bunch of extra unofficial non-supported steps etc. so trying to get other people to do it can often be a hassle or they won't be willing to do it.

I do also think it would be nice if they allowed people to use custom themes. I know that server side graphics are available only to "Partners" that are basically premium servers that require having a min. amount of members and social media followers. What those graphic options are though I'm not sure as they don't specify on the website.

I am all for this, I have wanted more customization but I did not want to gamble with my discord account by using third party discord modifications like that.

To those saying use Better Discord: That's against the ToS. If it wasn't I'm sure no one would ask for it officially and just use Better Discord.

Selfbots and Spambots are totally different to betterdiscord. BetterDiscord allows for theme changes via CSS which is all cosmetic. It's something they can easily implement but for some reason haven't and discord has been around for a fair bit of time.

I get banning selfbots and spambots is a good idea but banning something that literally changes the cosmetics of discord should not be banned...

Simply put it does not inject to discord servers meaning it does not increase the load for discord to handle. It does not have affects on discord directly unless they make it something for Discord Nitro users or something that you must pay for. Since this does not exist it should not be banned.

Better discord is literally something that allows the user to have something more appealing to look at while chatting to friends and since it's a platform built for gamers like how they advertise they must realize that gamers like to modify things especially games like Borderlands 2 for example or any other game you can mod weapons or levels on and that's not all but you get the point WE as gamers enjoy modding things from time to time and this is simply the best cosmetic modification discord has ever seen. A bunch of amazing minds working together to make themes in CSS not only is this great for discord since it's getting people to use their software but it also allows the users to make money by selling their custom themes on to others so it's a win win. Of course discord could have their own market for this and take 5% of the earnings but as you can see there is so much potential with this and discord is simply ignoring it. Honestly I hope they wake up a little and realize what they are doing to the community. By shutting down someones genius idea and making it a reality is not only upsetting but it makes me feel like maybe discord isn't for me if it doesn't listen to it's own user base.

As someone who pays for discord nitro and pays for that server booster thing they just added. I expect a little more out of the company I choose to support. By putting people down on an idea that literally doesn't affect discord at all. If there is a security hole then hey just say if you use 3rd party apps we are no way shape or form reliable for what may happen and you're fine. Make a disclaimer. Maybe give users a bit of insight to what the dangers are and if they wish to ignore the dangers and go ahead with a simple cosmetic change then I believe they should be able to do that.

Discord over radicalizes BetterDiscord. It's nothing but appearance and usability for the person using it. You want a plugin to show who the server owner is, It's cosmetic. Want to have custom Discord Rich Presence, Totally cosmetic. This should be implemented as it is an amazing thing. Also BetterDiscord will never go away as Discord can't do a DMCA takedown on it.

Undermaster, You are aware that like in a browser like on this very page. if you right click and inspect element. You can change how the website looks or text of what people said etc. You can basically do the same in the discord app for the desktop. So since it's not affecting discord at all except for the user who made modifications to their own discord application which btw does not affect discords servers or causes issues for them what so ever. Why would it not be allowed?

then unfortunately i will be creating a css loader that will be able to apply themes in such a way that discord staff will be unable to tell that any change has even been made, this is something i already do. i will repackage it for use for all and release it if your unwilling to release a safe to use theme editing option.

from what I know, CSS can't really do anything besides visual stuff. The plugin you're taking about CJ is a JSON script anyways.

Actually it's entirely possible to make keylogger in pure css, Although it is unoptimized amd really narrowly targetted https://bytescout.com/blog/css-keylogger.html also a y sort of modification to discord client is obviously against ToS and can end with account termination
Yes editing css even through plugins like stylish or via developer tools count as ToS violation

i dont care about the plugins but i want custom css themeing natively supported. It mean it would be amazing to see that implemented into discord.

Custom themes are a great idea. Background images are a terrible idea. Allow experienced developers to create custom themes and let the public choose from those. It's just CSS after all. I doubt user generated content will ever makes its way into core Discord though.

This would remove a lot of the problems Bandaged BD can cause, so I give this idea a big fat +.
Themes would only benefit Discord. The company itself doesn't need to make themes - let the community do that.

Being able to customize every aspect of discord should just be a built in feature for everyone
If black text on white makes you nauseous and can only read green text on red you should be able to

Btw, there's no reason the new light theme, old light theme, dark theme, and everything else couldn't be a preset. Even Disco Fever.

i saw several threads talking about client-side hexcode customissation which linked back to here desspite client themes and server themes being two very different things. regardless, a custom hexcode theme in which the user would be able to Personalize disscord by having an option to change each default hexcode (or at the Very Leasst the entire colour palette) would be very nice.

I'm personally thinking that it would be great to have themes and not the standard black&White better discord has some nice themes but is against the TOS, which I think is okay but I would not be happy if the themes would be for nitro users only I am self a nitro user (not classic the new one) so I would not have the problem when its just for nitro but still I think everybody should have a customised Discord appearance.
