Pretty simple suggestion, title says it all. 

Just (obviously) have a toggle slider and have it ship with the option disabled

If the feature also goes out on mobile possibly have another slider on there where you can toggle if the gifs autoplay while on data?

 

First suggestion post here so I'm super open to feedback :)
