Preventing Nicknames that have non-English symbols

Non-English names might be the wrong definition. I think you mean Non-Alphanumeric, because for example Ananassaft#1337 would be still easy to mention.

Kinda harsh if the server is non-English as well. Maybe let the Server Owner to choose the language to set the nicknames to?

the usernames creativity stops when you do that kind of useless thing

I think finding a way to make pinging easier would be a better option, as people should be able to have whatever sort of username they would like, as well as the fact that not everybody's names are in English.

Interesting idea, and I kinda agree, it's hard during multi-bot raids if the users have zalgo etc. names.

But removing ALL non-english characters is a bit too knee-jerk.

My suggestion is, if you're having trouble pinging people, disallow the nickname change permission and change their name to something you can ping, or give them a personal role, and ping the role.

Maybe let the server Owner enforce nickname regex, then if an owner want only Latin, the user will be prompted to set a new custom nickname instead of updating his tag.

Reminder: This is mean't to stop unicode and special characters

At the very least, zero-width characters and characters that are excessively tall should be disallowed. I'd agree that most non-English characters (e.g. Chinese, accents) should definitely be kept, but there has to be a line drawn somewhere instead of allowing you to put whatever strange symbols you want at the expense of readability.
