A Few Suggestions for the Boost Feature Seguir Hallowisp 6 de julio de 2019 17:49 Editado So I really love the Boost feature in theory, but I've found it pretty punishing in its implementation. Most of this is due to the scarcity of Boosts. For example, I'm in a server with almost 3k members (~700-900 active at any given time) and so far, we've managed to achieve a grand total of 2 boosts... I understand that there are massive servers out there, and I agree that they should have access to special perks. But if Level 2 and 3 are going to be so unattainable to small- and mid-size servers, I think the best perks should be frontloaded in level 1 (this is standard crowdsourcing philosophy). In short: make the low-level rewards appeal most to small servers. Make the high-level rewards appeal most to large servers. Even ONE of the following changes would dramatically increase the utility of a Boost: --Allow Nitro users to boost multiple servers (could still be a limited #). --Allow Nitro users to offer a permanent boost that remains even if they unsub.--Allow Boosts from a single user to "accumulate" over time.--Allow users to purchase permanent boosts a la carte.--Make the server banner a level 1 reward. Small servers will care about this more than a splash background. I really love Discord, and I want to support it financially, but I can't justify spending $10/month on a service that has no value to me (no, Guacamelee doesn't cut it). If any of the above changes occurred (or per-server avatars...but there's already a huge thread about that), I would sign up for Nitro in an instant. But with the perk I really want (the server banner), so wildly out of reach for my small "home" server, I don't see the purpose in signing up at all. I hope the Boost system (and Nitro in general) will continue to be tweaked, and that we'll see value build as the service ages. I look forward to the day when that value has increased enough that I will happily hand over my money. 18
