Open links directly when clicking on notification which only contains a link

ok, so this has been bothering me and a couple for friends for a while.

We often send each other links to either code snippets or just some dank meme links to some platform.

Why is it still not a thing, that when you click on the notification, it automatically opens the brower with the link and marks the message as read?

  I can honestly say I don't want a random link opening up just because I clicked a notification that had a link in it. Especially if someone sends me a link to something I don't want to see. I can imagine that's why it's not a feature.
  
  Having it as an option, maybe. But not as a default feature.
